Government Projects
Birmingham, Alabama
Developed for General Services as the offices for United States Attorney, Northern District of Alabama, a mid-rise Class “A” office in the Central Business District of Birmingham across from the Hugo Black Federal Courthouse.
The site is located in the Fourth Avenue Historic District and the architectural design expresses reverence for the former structure. The building is integrated into the existing streetscape by creative massing and use of color and materials similar to the old building. The development team designed and executed a classic architectural form on an urban site meeting security concerns and conforming to the design guidelines of General Services Administration, the City of Birmingham and the State of Alabama. A key feature for this project is the prominent site within a Historic District requiring architecturally sensitive façade features, massing requirements and brick materials
