Durham, North Carolina (LEED Certified Silver)
Located in Central Park II, an office park in Durham, North Carolina, this space was designed to be a secure and efficient environment for the officers of the agency and the candidates for citizenship. The building is a two-story Class “A” facility with 27,170 square feet and support parking. This building is LEED Silver Certified.
The main level features large transparent glazing areas allowing natural light flow and decreasing artificial lighting requirements. A ceremonial multipurpose space is accessible from the main lobby separate from the clerical functions identifying its importance and assuring easy exiting and circulation. More private office space is located on the second level which features waiting areas located directly off the public circulation providing secure circulation throughout the executive suites. The topographic changes and placement of the building across the site affords a clear separation of public parking areas and site entrances to the north of the building and employee secured parking and service access to the south of the building with no access between the two.
